Florence is continuing to bring rain to the region and a flash flood watch remains in effect until 8 p.m. on Sunday. A tropical storm warning is also in effect.
Tonight there’s a 100 percent chance of rain and 1 to 2 inches are possible.
We continue to have two shelters open – Sumter High School at 2580 McCrays Mill Road and Mayewood Middle School at 4300 East Brewington Road. At 4 p.m., there were 76 people at Sumter High School and 91 at Mayewood. Both shelters are under the auspice of the American Red Cross and S.C. Department of Social Services and no pets are allowed.
At 4 p.m. we had 1,034 residents without power in Sumter County.
High winds are still possible, so please stay indoors and off the roads as the possibility of an emergency necessitates the roads remain clear for first responders.
