The Sumter Fire Department is unique in that two separate entities — a city fire department and a county volunteer department — work together as one to protect the Sumter Community. There are five city stations with more than 100 career firefighters and 15 county stations with over 200 volunteers that, through training and education, work together as a team to protect Sumter. Our 5 full-time station locations are as follows:
