Sumter Community Survey Closing September 30
SUMTER, SC (September 1, 2018) – The Sumter City-County Planning Department is reminding all Sumter residents to participate in the 2040 Comprehensive Plan process by completing a community survey by September 30th.
The survey asks for community input on planning and development issues facing the Sumter community today and into the future. The survey asks questions about how Sumter citizens feel about the environment, the condition of their neighborhoods and if they could dream of one big project or vision to benefit the community, what would it be.
The survey is available online at www.sumter2040.com and in print at locations like the HOPE Centers, the Planning Department, and the Sumter County Library.
“So far, almost 1,000 of our friends and neighbors have filled out the survey, giving their opinions and feedback on the state of our City and County,” stated George McGregor, Planning Director. “The survey results will be used to develop policy and goals during the 2040 Comprehensive Plan process starting this fall, so it’s vital to have input from our community on its future.”
The planning department is currently scheduling speakers for dates from September through November 2018 to discuss the comprehensive planning process. “We welcome the opportunity to meet with civic groups, neighborhood associations, and homeowners associations,” stated McGregor. “We want to engage the Sumter community and have a public conversation about our collective vision for the future.”
If your group would like to invite a speaker, please contact McGregor at 803-774-1660 or email [email protected].
