Storm Debris Pickup Extended Through October 30
Due to excessive debris in the wake of Hurricane Matthew, the City of Sumter is working with a private contractor to remove storm debris through October 30. Please make sure that your yard debris is left on the right-of-way along the edge of your property so crews can access it easily.
For contractors or residents who want to clean up their own debris, the City has opened a temporary no-charge, drop-off site for tree debris at the Pocotaligo Industrial Site located on Highway 521 South of Sumter.
The City of Sumter Sanitation Department will also continue their regular routes for residential garbage, typical yard debris and recycling.
All questions regarding storm debris pickup should be directed to the Public Services Department at 803-436-2558. Thank you.
