Youth Hunting Take One Make One Program

Take One Make One Program (TOMO) is a program held in conjunction with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) and is designed to teach safe hunting practices to students who have no previous outdoor hunting experience. This program will increase their awareness and the value of wildlife and the natural environment by encouraging experienced adults to “pass on” traditional outdoor skills. TOMO emphasizes teaching safe and ethical hunting, the conservation and responsible use of our natural resources and character education.

Submissions are accepted year-round. Hunters for the TOMO Youth Hunts are chosen randomly through a computer-generated "lottery" drawing. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. Applicants from across South Carolina will be entered into SCDNR’s lottery system, and the chosen youth and their parents will be contacted directly by SCDNR with details on date, time, location, and next steps. You must have official confirmation from SCDNR to participate.

All youth who participate in this program must complete a hunter safety course before the date of the hunt. Scan this QR code to go directly to the SCDNR site for more information and to complete their application:
