A friendly and gregarious community, Sumter is known for its events. This means that there’s not far to travel before there’s a gathering in sight. With concerts, special events and more, the downtown area is particularly pedestrian-friendly and there is usually something interesting happening!
CITY OF SUMTER
Beau Graham Square
Corner of East Liberty and North Main Streets, Downtown
Take a seat on one of the wrought-iron benches at Beau Graham Square and enjoy one of Sumter’s most unique water features. The rugged stone waterwall is soothing to the eyes and ears as it meanders down a manmade stream to a pool featuring an exquisitely detailed bronze swan and seasonal plantings.
Between South Main and Harvin Streets, Downtown
From Main Street, the view into the Brody Pavilion offers splashing fountains, benches and greenery set off by authentic antique brick walls and period lighting. Among the hustle and bustle of Sumter's growing downtown, it's an oasis of tranquility.
City Centre Terrace and Courtyard
North Main Street, adjacent to the City Centre
Relax in the alleyway of City Centre Terrace with fare from a local restaurant, for a meeting or any City Centre event. Or, take the party to the adjacent Courtyard area for a performance or to enjoy a private party. The soft grass of the Courtyard, accented by cobblestones and ground lighting, accommodates 102 chairs. Available for private rental.
